From pixels to policy

Why decision-makers need product-grade signals, not raw imagery, and how that reshapes what EO startups build.

Earth observation companies historically sold pixels. The buyers — operators, regulators, NGOs — don't want pixels. They want a yes/no, a magnitude, a confidence number, a timeline.
The shape of the right product
- A signal, not an image.
- A confidence interval, not a single number.
- A delivery channel that fits the buyer's existing workflow — usually a webhook or an email, almost never a portal.
Building this means investing twice as much in the last mile as in the imagery itself. Most EO companies underinvest there. We're trying not to.
